Awesome freebie..

Got an awesome brain coral from a very nice co-worker  :) seems to be acclimating well to the new tank. Now, all I need is 300 more pieces of nice corals to fill up my tank...lol...

Baby steps...

The few fish and easy corals in the tank seems to be doing well... sure have a LONG ways to go before the tanks looks anywhere near full... Yes, I have nemo's:p

  

My junk in the trunk...

Or as some call it.. my sump and filtration equipment.. seeded the refugium with a bunch of mail-ordered pods and chaeto. In hopes of keeping my future mandarin goby fat and healthy.. on the other end of the sump is my filter sock, Bubble Magus Curve 7 Skimmer, gfo/carbon media reactor and the Hydra Aquatics Biopellet reactor... will need to reorganize everything later on..

Had a chance to play with one today and it's pretty awesome. So easy to assemble, adjust and service. I think they should have called it the "MightyMini" instead. think I'll pick one up for BioPellets for my tank. Maybe they'll make a "DoubleMax" for bigger tanks, lol..

Not all ducklings can be turned into swans...

So I tried to convert my media reactor into a biopellet reactor and FAILED! Replaced the restricting foam discs with NPX screens, but still was not able to get the biopellets to tumble correctly.
Fortunately, all is not lost. I now have a modded-and-upgraded carbon/gfo reactors with Brightwell X-port NO3 in the second chamber. One step closer to low DOC's.. here are the pics of the upgraded duckling...
