The "Mooosh" Pit

Amazing how many different colors, shapes and sizes mushrooms come in.. here is just a tiny selection of yumas,  ricordia, rhodactis and others. Would love to have a 'jawbreaker' one day.

DIY'd and transformed...

The EcoPico is a great little light.. at 3W, it just didn't cut mustard. With a little work of the soldering iron and $15 in parts, the little scrawny light has been transformed in to a 12W par monster... yes, my supervisor was on hand to make sure the workmanship was up to snuff.

It's not about the size ..

Christine's 4-gallon nano-reef.. it's her tank  but I'll probably end up doing all the work.. doh...  as with all nano's,  the trick will be to keep a constant salinity and temperature level. Keeping organics levels low will also be a challenge; fortunately, I can perform regular LARGE water changes with mature water from the big tank.

Nay to Nematocysts! Boo!

Nematocyats are evil! Was rearranging some corals and got a not-so-little sting from my green bubble-tip anemone... will definitely have to be more careful next time... or make my girlfriend move her own corals, lol..
